After booking your portrait session day with me, the next step is to find your ideal location for our backdrop. As a destination photographer, I serve clients all over the East Coast but Southern Pines is where we call home. Here is a list of portrait session locations in Southern Pines and the surrounding areas, including Aberdeen and Pinehurst. Each of these are beautiful in their own right and make a perfect backdrop for your celebration, whether it is a maternity, engagement, proposal, or family session.

Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities

Location Description | Open fields, lavender lined gardens, small pond, cottage, variety of buildings and backdrops, some fall foliage in autumn

Downtown Southern Pines
Address | Parking is available around town. I like to meet at the train station and meander through the streets and shops for variety and exploration!
Session Fee | Free / $0
Location Description | Urban vibes with small town feel. Variety of building backdrops, alleyways, greenery and florals sprinkled throughout our walk.
Ideal For | Engagement Sessions, Elopements, Older Families, Couples.
Downtown Southern Pines has a new art installation at the Harbour Place of Southern Pines. It is a beautiful, multi-story mural painted by Nick Napoletano and would make a wonderful backdrop to a portion of your session!
Private Horse Farm

Location Description | Let me share my little happy place on earth with you! Interactive and beautiful location with rolling fields, white sand paths, flowers, and a white middle aisle barn. You can meet & spoil my horse, Twilight, with all of the treats and meet some of her friends.
Ideal For | All types of portrait sessions including young families, maternity, and engagements.
Downtown Aberdeen

Location Description | Downtown Aberdeen provides an urban backdrop and is beautifully paired for a second location after leaving the horse farm. I recommend that you end the evening with a walk around town, sharing an ice cream or a cocktail from the local restaurants.

Boyd Tract

Location Description | The Boyd Tract is a part of hiking and trail system, but before we get into the woods, there are rolling hills, open fields, and greenery for a fresh and outdoor session. Perfectly paired with a scheduled session at the Weymouth Center since they are next door to each other.

Pinehurst Resort

Location Description | This icon of Pinehurst is perfectly paired as a second location with Downtown Pinehurst or the Village Arboretum because of it’s close proximity. The Pinehurst Resort attracts destination golfers with its world class golf packages and it’s spa is one of the local favorites. It boasts greenery, florals, classic resort backdrop, brick walkways and more.

Soiree on South
Address | 111 W South St, Aberdeen, NC 28315
Session Fee | $75 – $100 per hour
Location Description | A beautiful, light filled boutique venue located in the heart of Aberdeen. White walls for a clean backdrop paired with comfortable and cute couches for use. You are able to bring your own decor too if you’d like to add to the space.
Ideal For | All types of portrait sessions including young families, maternity, brands, and engagements. Room to explore for kiddos!
