Pinehurst NC Elopement

Congratulations to the newlyweds, Mr & Mrs. Owens! These two planned a beautiful Pinehurst, NC elopement where they exchanged (very emotional) vows during an intimate ceremony with their families. It was such a sweet moment to witness.

Before the Wedding

A few months before their elopement, Taylor and Jake joined me for coffee at one of my favorite local coffee shops. Turns out, it was one of their favorites too! The Roast Office makes the best iced coffees plus it has a library to check out books from! Speaks straight to my heart. We grabbed a seat outside and enjoyed some sunshine and talked through all things wedding.

Like most couples, they wanted to create a custom wedding day package that would suit their needs. Above all, they valued portraits together, family photos and documenting the most important part of their day… their ceremony and vows to each other. We planned it all out and picked some portrait locations that would offer variety. Some at their home and some around Pinehurst as well! You’ll see some of my favorites from the day below.

The Wedding Day

The wedding venue and location was very special to them. They choose to elope at their home near Pinehurst. It would be their first home together and it was designed entirely by Jake when he built it. It couldn’t have been a more perfect place. The home was open, bright and absolutely impeccable.

(Side note: there were horses along the driveway from their neighbors farm and it made my heart REALLY happy. I’m still like a little kid when I drive by horses haha!)

Jake and Taylor decorated their outdoor covered patio with twinkling, white lights and created a ceremony backdrop of Christmas trees. The smell was amazing. I LOVE Christmas, it’s the best holiday of the year. It was nearly impossible to contain my excitement when she shared this vision with me. Watching it come to life was jaw dropping. They perched the trees on top of wooden stumps and the greenery beautifully accented the handmade wooden arbor that was displayed in front of them. These two totally knocked it out of the park.

After their ceremony, we ventured out to the Town of Pinehurst for their first portraits as husband and wife. We grabbed some clear umbrellas and walked around town exploring all of the beautiful places this town has to offer. We naturally started right at the Roast Office and didn’t stop shooting until the sun was out of sight. It rained most of the day but the clouds parted and the sun took the stage to give us a BEAUTIFUL pink and orange sunset. See the last photo of the dramatic sky!

My favorite part

My favorite part of their whole day? The mood and laid back ambiance. There was no stress. No nerves. No clear agenda outside of getting these two married and celebrating the beginning of their marriage. And the rain didn’t phase anyone. We ventured out with umbrellas and played in the streets. It was an ideal day and one to remember and celebrate always.

A special note <3

Taylor and Jake, THANK YOU for wholeheartedly choosing and trusting me to capture your wedding day. I’m so humbled to be a part of it. You two took every moment in stride, stayed true to what you valued and created a beautiful day to remember for the rest of your lives together. I wish you both nothing but years and years of love and happiness! And I hope our friendship doesn’t end here and that we can grab more coffees together while the military has our families close! <3

Now it’s time to share a few of my favorite photos from Taylor and Jake’s Pinehurst NC Elopement!

A special thank you to all of the vendors who made this beautiful day possible.
