Sarahbeth and Jacob are MARRIED!!! Congratulations to the new
Mr & Mrs Leinweber <3
These two were joined by their family and closest friends for a backyard garden wedding in Westport, Kentucky. It was clearly evident that Sarahbeth and Jacob poured so much time and effort into every detail of their day. From the floral elements, to the INCREDIBLE family photo lists (which I am still so impressed with!!!), all the way down to the carefully placed dinner settings… I was in awe of every piece that they dreamed up. It was such a beautiful, perfect day and I am still humbled and grateful to have been apart of it.
Sarahbeth had told me she had been dreaming of having her wedding in her family’s yard for years, even before she met Jacob. So when he proposed, they made that dream come true. Together, they even built the arbor that covered the dining table in the backyard. How impressive is that? They make such a sweet couple who is nothing but a joy to be around. Their wedding day was just as sweet as they are and I hope you all enjoy some of my favorites photos of their day.
But before you scroll down to the photos, and because you know I am a sucker for a good love story, you can read a little more about S&J! You can also find their fall engagement session at Ashbourne Farms here. 🙂
How They Met
Sarahbeth and Jacob met through their church, where they were both in the same small group. One year, Jacob wasn’t going to be flying home to Washington for Thanksgiving so Sarahbeth’s parents invited him over for dinner! (How sweet!!!) Sarahbeth started to fall for him here… 🙂 They starting working together with the youth group at their church and would meet up to talk about it more. Then a few weeks later, these two went on their first date! 🙂
How He Asked
I’m such a sucker for a proposal story!! I love when couples share it with me. Jacob definitely surprised Sarahbeth… so much that she said she blacked out entirely and barely remembers the proposal!!
The story goes a little something like this… Jacob had told Sarahbeth that they were going a picnic with another couple. But right before they left for the picnic… the couple “dropped out” suddenly (suspect!!) But they didn’t let that ruin the dinner plans. They started their picnic where Jacob asked Sarahbeth to dance and sing to Annie’s Song by John Denver (which would also later be their first dance!) After the song finished, Jacob started sharing more about their future and proceeded to get down on one knee… Sarahbeth says she doesn’t remember the actual proposal part but can remember just how shocked she was because she didn’t see it coming!! (Way to go Jacob!!!)
All of that leads us to June 20, 2020… a wedding under the trees by the river. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do 🙂
Sarahbeth and Jacob, thank you so much for having me for your wedding. I have been looking forward to this day since our first email when you reached out describing your backyard garden wedding vision. It was the best way to kick start summer. To top off a beautiful day, you’re family and friends were so just warm and welcoming and we loved being a part of your celebration. Congratulations again friends! <3
