Hey yall! If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I am planning to revamp and relaunch my WHOLE website. My original thought was to do it all in secrecy, behind the scenes and surprise everyone with it whenever I got around to finishing it.

But I heard something this week that changed my whole way of thinking on this process. In Episode 5 of the newly launched podcast The Mary Marantz Show, Mary speaks about when you are in a place of pivoting, or in a place of change, it’s important to “bring them (your friends, family and followers) along with you for that journey and don’t be afraid to embrace being a ‘newbie.’ Don’t shy away from what’s stressful!”

So essentially, if I were to work on this HUGE project all by myself and “surprise” everyone with a link on my Facebook one day, how would you perceive that? There’s no way you would you even know about how many hours of hard work I put into it. Would you even be able to appreciate the work like I do? Probably not. Because you have no idea and that would be entirely my fault because I didn’t clue you in or bring in for the ride.

Because I have the most supportive friends and family, I’m sure you would all click on it and think “Oh! So pretty! Great job, Tricia!” But I’m hoping for a little more than that, some greater understanding and maybe even gain a few cheerleaders while I am working through it as well.

I’ll be sharing some tips on my IG Stories and even save the videos in my “Website Launch” highlight reel in case you miss them. While educating you all on what I do for my business (besides taking pretty photos, which I love the most,) I also hope to help someone else who may need it. If you are the same place as me, or are hoping to launch a website soon, follow along and feel free to submit any questions you have. I hope to help at least one person!

Cause let me tell you, building a website is not easy work. There is so much that goes into it from writing copy, to designing, gathering your content and organizing it all in an efficient way. I’ll include a small list of some of the tasks I need to do in order to meet my goals. These are pretty high level but I’ll break them down as we go.

  1. Choose + design website template
  2. Color palettes + Fonts
  3. Branding photos
  4. Write new website copy
  5. Learn more about SEO
  6. Applying said SEO

When sharing my progress you all,  I hope it helps me stay accountable and that by creating a deadline, I’ll push myself harder and stay motivated to complete it. Cheers to the beginning of this fun and exciting project, I’m glad to have you with me.

Official deadline date is set for 10/31/2019.
