This is one of my favorite portraits of my grandparents. Zack and I drove up to meet them for dinner on the beach at a family favorite favorite pizza spot. When walking back from getting our ice cream for dessert, Zack slowed his pace and told me to step back and get this photo of them. I’m so thankful he did.
I loved it so much because it captured them in their happy place. It wasn’t posed, just high school sweethearts still full of love being authentically them. I had it printed by a professional lab that I still use today and framed it in our home.
We lost our Pop earlier this year. It’s so hard to believe that one day all you’ll have is the memories you made together and the photos you took.
I see this photo and get an overwhelming sense of warm and salty air. I can still remember how bright the moon looked over the ocean to our left and honestly, how frustrated I was when I couldn’t capture its beauty (and give it justice) on camera. I had cake batter ice cream in my other hand as I *gracefully* balanced the camera and remember everyone lighting up like kids on Christmas when the pizza was delivered to our table. So many memories from just this one photo.
Printed photographs can give you a tangible memory to hold and reflect on. They will bring you back to that exact moment in the frame. And whether that moment is when you see your husband for the first time on your wedding day or if it’s just a casual walk down the boardwalk after dinner… you’ll be thankful to have them one day.
This is one of the reasons why I include prints in every wedding collection. I believe your photographs are an art that deserve to be printed and loved beyond your online gallery. And I love the my clients appreciate them so much.
Invest in your photos. Print them out and frame them. Share them on your walls and with your loved ones. I hope the memories I capture may bring comfort and joy to you when you need them.
Miss you always, Pop. Hope you continue to watch over us all from Heaven.
