When Sarabeth reached out to me last month about their wedding, I was all giddy with excitement as she told me they were planning a backyard garden wedding just outside of Louisville, Kentucky. Intimate weddings are so personable & joyful, I couldn’t wait to know more.
After meeting them in person last week for their engagement session at Ashbourne Farms, I just know it’s going to be the perfect summer day. The love these two have for each other is overflowing and contagious. My cheeks were sore after our portrait session from smiling so much!
Our goal was to make sure we captured all the fall colors during their session and we weren’t let down at all. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, October in Kentucky is the best time of the year! It offers so many beautiful colors and compliments every session. My absolute favorite part about the entire session (besides when the horses came over to play) was how these two just lived in the moment. It made be feel like I was just spying into a day in the life for them. They would joke, laugh and have fun little conversations.
I won’t skip over the horses because that was just icing on the cake for me! You mean I get to create beautiful art, meet the kindest couple & there are horses involved? Ugh. Day maker! They came and joined us by the fence towards the end of our session and I fan-girlled like I have never been around a horse before. When in reality I’m at the barn with my horse Twilight a few days every week. I guess I’ll always be the girl who gets too excited when she sees ponies. Haha!
Sarabeth and Jacob,
I enjoyed every moment of your engagement session. I loved getting to know you both & completely adored the way you love each other! You two are fun, joyful and so so kind! Thank you for having me as your wedding photographer, I cannot wait for your backyard garden wedding next summer! It’s going to be the best day ever <3
